Welcome to Bergs Municipality - Municipality of the Year 2024!
Two-thirds of our population live outside our urban areas; we do not see the municipality's sparsity as a hindrance but as an opportunity! Here you will find magnificent nature nearby, a strong entrepreneurial spirit, and an active cultural and community life. For those who want the city's offerings and communications, Östersund is just a stone's throw away. The South Sámi culture, reindeer husbandry, and language are an important part of the municipality's identity.
As an employer, all municipal operations rest on our five guiding principles: together, courage, effectiveness, communication, and long-term thinking. Our guiding principles are designed to be our compass and guidance in always promoting trust and a good organizational culture with the citizen in focus.
At bergsliv.se, we have gathered inspiring reports about people living in the municipality and facts about our urban areas. Welcome to find your dream life with us in Bergs Municipality!
We accept your job application digitally via our recruitment system. If you have protected personal information, you should not send your application via the recruitment system. Instead, contact the HR consultant via switchboard 0687-161 00, and you will receive assistance on how to apply for a job safely. We kindly ask for no contact from staffing and recruitment companies or sellers of job advertisements.
Do you want to be part of the Bergs Municipality team?
The Social Services Department includes two units: authority exercise and implementation. We are now looking for you who are a social worker within authority exercise and are interested in a temporary position with us in the area of children and youth.
Job Responsibilities
As a social worker focusing on children and youth, you will be part of a group with nine other employees. In this role, you will be an important piece of a fascinating and ambitious organization currently characterized by strong forward momentum. Collaboration is an important keyword in our work.
The job responsibilities mainly consist of authority exercise, where you investigate and assess needs and decide on interventions. In some cases, you will also be responsible for implementation and follow-up of the interventions. The work is conducted in accordance with applicable legislation, particularly the Social Services Act (SoL) and the Care of Young Persons Act (LVU). Documentation and collaboration with others, as well as being a presenter for the Care and Social Welfare Board when needed, are also included.
The position includes social readiness, which is reached via 112, outside office hours. Compensation according to agreement is included, and you will serve in readiness based on a rotating schedule.
Qualifications
A degree in social work is a requirement for this position. If you also have several years of experience in investigation and authority exercise within the Social Services field (focusing on children and youth), good knowledge of the relevant legislation (particularly SoL and LVU), and experience from working with VIVA and/or BBIC, we consider this an advantage. You need to have a good ability to express yourself in Swedish, both orally and in writing. A driver's license for passenger cars (B-license) is required. Upon employment, an extract from the Police's criminal record will be requested. The application form can be downloaded from the Police's website.
Bergs Municipality is a Sámi administrative municipality, and we therefore see it as an advantage if you have knowledge of the South Sámi language and culture.
Personal Qualities
To thrive in the role of social worker with us, you need to have a good ability to work independently while also seeing teamwork as a central part of the overall work. If you enjoy taking responsibility, are driven, flexible, and think of solutions instead of obstacles, then you are the right person for us. You thrive in a role where the work is carried out from a holistic perspective around the individual and family, where collaboration with both the individual and other operations is a given. Being attentive, humble, and able to ask for help are also qualities we are looking for. Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability based on these qualities.
We strive for a heterogeneous workforce regarding age, gender, and ethnic background.
We Offer
Working in Bergs Municipality means you become part of an organization in constant development and forward motion. Our employees are our most important resource, and we value you for your unique skills and experience. We offer access to the benefits portal Benify, wellness grants, wellness hours, the possibility of vacation and pension exchange, as well as some remote work. We apply a close-to-operation leadership style and close collegial support, which includes weekly meetings with the first secretary and external supervision once a month.
